System: Park Place

[2940] One of House Marik's most embarrassing defeats at the hands of House Liao occurred on the backwater world of Park Place, when the 15th Dracon mercenaries succeeded in capturing an entire battalion of Free Worlds Guards.

[3014] During Anton Marik’s Revolt, some worlds sided with the would-be Captain-General’s forces voluntarily. Others, like Park Place, had to be coerced by a show of military might. The Fifth Regulan Hussars brought Park Place into the fold in June 3014, as they moved from their garrison post on Ventabren towards the Marik Commonwealth border.

The Fifteenth Marik Militia, the Stewart Dragoons Home Guard, and the Head Hunters assaulted Park Place in January 3015, pursuing the surviving members of the Third Marik Militia that retreated from Bernado. Faced with overwhelming odds, the Third had no hope. What remained of the command — including General Gerald Marik — was forced to surrender after two weeks of brutal fighting.
